2‑Phosphonobutane‑1,2,4‑Tricarboxylic Acid (PBTCA)

PBTCA features low phosphorus content. Thanks to its phosphonic acid and carboxylic acid structure, it exhibits excellent scale and corrosion inhibition, superior to conventional organophosphonic acids. Its scale‑inhibiting performance is far better under high‑temperature conditions. It provides good zinc salt solubility, favorable chlorine‑resistance and outstanding compound compatibility. Widely used in scale‑corrosion inhibitor formulations, it is also an excellent stabilizer for zinc salts.

    1. Performance and Application

It is extensively applied for corrosion and scale inhibition in circulating cooling water systems and oilfield injection water systems, especially suitable for compounding with zinc salts and copolymers. It can be used under conditions of high temperature, high hardness, high alkalinity and high concentration multiple. It can also serve as chelating agent and metal cleaning agent in detergent industry.
