1. Properties and Application
- Chlorine dioxide is a strong oxidizing agent, non‑carcinogenic, non‑teratogenic and non‑mutagenic. Compared with chlorine, it has the following advantages: it can kill not only common microorganisms but also fungal spores and viruses. It does not react with ammonia, phenols or unsaturated compounds. Its biocidal performance is barely affected by pH variation, so it is especially suitable as biocide for circulating cooling‑water in chemical fertilizer plants. It can fully replace chlorine gas and non‑oxidizing biocides for cost‑effective operation.
- As a broad‑spectrum, non‑toxic and non‑irritating agent, it is a new‑generation safe multi‑functional biocide and disinfectant. It is widely applied in drinking‑water treatment, circulating cooling‑water, environmental disinfection, food preservation, deodorization, medical‑device disinfection, etc. It can also be used for pulp & textile bleaching, sugar decolorization, and disinfection in food‑processing industry.
2. Technical Specifications (Compliant with HG/T2777‑1996)
Note: Custom concentrations such as 4 %, 6 % chlorine dioxide are available upon customer request.
| Item | Index |
|---|
| Appearance | Colorless or slightly yellow liquid |
| Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) Content % | ≥2.0 |
| Density (20℃), g/cm³ | 1.020‑1.060 |
3. Usage Method
- For biocidal and algaecidal treatment in circulating cooling‑water, it can replace chlorine. Dose 30‑50 mg/L every 2‑3 days.
- Activate by acidification for 10‑15 minutes before use, then feed into the suction side of circulating‑water pump. For slime‑stripping treatment, dosage is 100‑200 mg/L. Use immediately after activation.
4. Packaging and Storage
- Packed in plastic drums of 25 KG or customized size per customer requirements.
- Store in well‑ventilated cool indoor place, avoid direct sunlight. Shelf life: 12 months.
5. Safety & Protection
Chlorine dioxide solution is alkaline. Take protective measures during handling. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water upon contact.
